Spotty Ottoman
Karri panel finished with Danish oil.
May 2017
A large room with all the furniture around the edges required something to fill the space. Left over fabric from the renovation of an old chair provided the starting point.
Large box joints on the corners give both strength and an attractive finish. The well padded top lifts up to provide lots of storage.
Bookshelves
Birch plywood
July 2016
I had been looking to do an exposed edge plywood project for a while and these built in bookshelves gave me the opportunity.
Dark green paper-faced panels contrast with the light birch plywood and the random widths add interest. Storage cupboards and drawers underneath to hide away the things you dont want on show.
Dining table for 8
Reclaimed Messmate with polyurathane varnish finish.
December 2015
Large, solid timber table with splayed legs. Nail holes and voids filled with blackened epoxy to retain character while providing practical wipe clean surface.
Center rails are brought in to excentuate the tapered table edge and to keep away from knees. Similarly tapered legs are morticed into end rails for maximum strength while looking as delicate as possible.
